This workshop will explore the morphological evolution of villages and tourist resorts stretching from Agadir to Taghazout, via Tamraght. Participants will analyze the diversity of accommodation types, ranging from youth hostels to luxury establishments, and examine how each category influences the attractiveness and development of the region.
The goal is to optimize this diversity in order to strengthen the destination’s appeal, by studying various planning and management strategies for accommodation that maximize economic and social benefits while addressing the varied needs of tourists.
Through an accessible, science-based approach, the workshop will provide practical tools for understanding the dynamics of the tourism sector, showing how communication strategies and spatial planning can be combined in the service of sustainable and harmonious development.

A co-design session will invite participants to collectively imagine innovative solutions to the challenges of tourism development, encouraging active collaboration among all local stakeholders. This initiative offers a valuable opportunity to grasp current issues and explore concrete ways to enhance the attractiveness of the Agadir – Taghazout – Tamraght region.

Workshop 2: Gender approach in the surf ecosystem of Taghazout and Tamraght: reflections on inclusion and social change

Saturday, October 25, from 1:30 pm to 3:00 pm

This workshop proposes to examine the impact of gender perspectives within the surf ecosystem of Taghazout and Tamraght, two of Morocco’s flagship surf destinations, through a fresh lens. Rather than presuming exclusion or marginalization, we aim to understand the complex realities on the ground, where both women and men practice this sport within a context of diversity and acceptance.
The objective is not to follow preconceived ideas about gender in surfing, but to highlight social nuances by analyzing how Moroccan society is evolving towards greater openness. We will discuss cultural shifts, the redefinition of gender roles in surf practice, and how this diversity is embraced within a rapidly growing tourism environment.
The workshop will also provide a space for dialogue on changing mindsets, shedding light on issues related to accessibility for women and youth in surfing, as well as their participation in professions linked to the sector (surf schools, event management, etc.). We will seek to understand how the values of acceptance and collaboration, deeply rooted in this region, contribute to a dynamic where equality is not merely an aspiration but an ongoing reality in transformation.

We will further explore how this social openness can benefit the local ecosystem by boosting the surf and tourism economy while respecting principles of sustainability and social responsibility. A co-design session will invite participants to develop practical solutions to encourage the active and equitable participation of all genders in surfing, in ways that remain respectful of local specificities.
This workshop is an invitation to re-examine perceptions and share experiences, approaching surfing through the lens of inclusion and openness, with the aim of helping to shape an environment where everyone – regardless of gender identity – can fully thrive.

Workshop 3: Building and showcasing your professional project in surfing

Sunday, October 26, from 1:30 pm to 3:00 pm

This workshop invites participants to transform their passion for surfing into a genuine professional project. They will discover key strategies to structure their career path, identify their skills, and connect them with opportunities in a fast-growing sector: tourism, hospitality, events, environment, or entrepreneurship.
The workshop places particular emphasis on creating a personal portfolio, designed as a clear and attractive business card, highlighting strengths and ambitions to potential partners or employers. By the end, each participant will leave with practical tools to increase their visibility and shape their future within the surf ecosystem, both in Morocco and internationally.
